North Nova
Perfect for residents looking for small community and rural life.

North Nova
The Northumberland Straight has more warm-water ocean beaches than anywhere else in Atlantic Canada. But when residents aren’t getting sand between their toes, they enjoy the local wine industry, fresh lobster, and Celtic culture that defines life in this beautiful region. From Amherst to Antigonish and everywhere in between, this place is as affordable as it is charming, and as connected to the sea as the people are connected to each other. A true community feeling in which to work and play.
A variety of diverse housing opportunities
Low cost of living
Triple-C competency-based curriculum, longitudinal integrated curriculum
A rich Scottish heritage defines life in this area
Ideal for residents interested in rural and small community life
Bike trails, water sports, beaches, and parks
Residents are based in vibrant communities from Antigonish through to New Glasgow and Truro, on to Amherst and Cumberland. The academic teaching centre is based in Truro, using technology, when necessary, for connections.

Love your life while learning family medicine! Here you will experience that work/life balance is paramount. You're close to towns with amenities, but also so close to nature with oodles of trails and activities for the outdoor enthusiast. The best way to describe the experience of being here is seaside medicine with no traffic, no commute. The medical staff is supportive and you'll feel like everyone has your back. In my perspective, it takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a community to train a family physician.
